Fundraising Information
See the sidebar for a sample fundraising letter to send out to parents/families/businesses. This has been VERY successful in the past! Our estimated cost for the trip to Orlando is $1250, not including food. $400 for registration, $500 for flight, $350 for hotel (with 2 to a room for 3 nights, it will be cheaper if you put more students in a room.) If you want to cover food, add another $200.
Educators Rising Competition Registration Info
The 2025 Maryland State Educators Rising Conference Registration is now open! Early Bird Registration is $45 and that runs until March 21st. Starting March 22nd, the cost will be $60. (This is automatic in the registration system so I will not be able to waive that upcharge after 3/21.) Please register here:  link to the registration page. Your ticket covers entrance to the conference, snack style breakfast (granola bars, coffee), a full lunch, parking, and a t-shirt!  Just like last year, you may pay with a credit card or get an invoice.  If you wish to get an invoice, please type the code "INVOICE" in the Discount Code space. This will then show the ticket as "free" and allow you to check out without paying. We will send you an invoice prior to the conference so that you can pay as a school or a county. The tentative schedule for the day is as below: 8:30 - 10:00 - Conference Registration and morning activities 10:00 - 10:45 - Conference Session #1 11:00 - 11:45 - Conference Session #2 12:00 - 1:30 Lunch, Keynote Speaker, celebration of competition winners 1:30 - 3:00 - Afternoon activities and dismissal Please register early, as we only have about 300 spots each day, and we sold out two years ago!
11/7 Meeting Agenda
1. We have received a 3.3 million dollar grant!  Details are forthcoming...  What is your wish list? 2. Call for Proposals for State Conference will be out by the end of the month, please consider presenting.  Presentations just need to be linked to one of the standards: https://educatorsrising.org/standards/ 3. Competitions have been a HUGE success so far, thank you for encouraging your students to compete! 4. BCPS Ed Rising conference on January 10th – Will host in person competitions for Children’s Literature.  If you are BCPS, please do not sign up for the virtual competitions that I am hosting on 1/14 and 1/18.  Instead, wait for the sign up from BCPS and get an in person timeslot on 1/10. 5. Need people to host in person competitions next school year, preferably in different parts of the state.  We can fund $250 per site for snacks/parking etc. If three people would each host 1 day of in-person and virtual competitions, that would be ideal.   6. Please continue to use our website, it holds all of the pertinent info for our state!  https://www.edrisingmd.org/
